When opener “Halcyon Days” is off to a somewhat hesitant start before erupting in a whirlwind of noise, it becomes obvious that five years between releases can change a lot. Whereas Two Gallants went with a more subtle approach on their two previous albums, they’re going all out this time around with raucous guitars and vocals that are wailing in despair.

And by doing that they’ve solved their biggest problem! Their previous album were far from bad but at times it all trickled along a bit too gently. Not anymore though… check out “My Love Won’t Wait” and “Ride Away” and be ready to hit the floor as they rage by. And when Two Gallants do slow things down on “Broken Eyes” or “Sunday Souvenirs”, the songs have all the more effect thanks to the barnburners that you’ll find on the rest of the album.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
