Yesterday, Northern Ireland's Empty Lungs’ premiered their new song “Don’t Get It” via New Noise Magazine. The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album EP Don’t Get It, which is scheduled to be released on March 10th through Hidden Pony Records. The band plays hard-hitting yet melodic punk rock with additional indie and power-pop influences sneaking in.

Don’t Get It was recorded by long time friend Rocky O’Reilly (And So I Watch You From Afar, Oppenheimer) at Start Together Studios in Belfast, Ireland. The first two tracks were mixed by Gus Van Go and Werner F (Said The Whale, Wintersleep) and the third by Jesse Gander (Japandroids, White Lung).

The band comments on the song:

“‘Don’t Get It’ is basically a fuck you to a culture that warps young people into thinking that self-image and selfishness are the core values of our modern society. That the only dreams worth having are the ones that revolve around wealth, celebrity and looking ‘beautiful.’ That’s a load of horse shit and those kinds of attitudes create an atmosphere that alienates anyone that doesn’t fit the mould. The youth culture that I love revolves around tolerance, art, activism and social change. Unfortunately these aren’t the dreams being sold to many of us.”
