Lame-O Records is happy to announce they will be kicking off 2015 with a six-way split featuring Modern Baseball, Spraynard, Beach Slang, Marietta, Hurry and The Weaks. The split will be available digitally and on vinyl on February 3rd. All proceeds from the sales will benefit United Cerebral Palsy, an organization that works to educate, advocate, and provide support services to individuals with cerebral palsy as well as a number of other disabilities. More information on the organization can be found HERE.
The split is now available for digital pre-order on the Lame-O Records bandcamp. The record will also be available as a one-sided 12", limited to 500 copies. Vinyl pre-orders will go on sale on Wednesday, January 7th via the Lame-O Records webstore at noon EST.
Strength in Weakness features six new, original songs from six local Philadelphia bands. Lame-O teamed up with a spectrum of the many bands Philly has to offer, from the pop-punk world to the fuzz pop basement scene, to put together a collection of songs in support of a great cause. Some bands were Lame-O affiliates (or alumnus), others are newly formed friends. All songs was recorded at Studio A by Jacob Ewald and Ian Farmer, who brought each band coming in for a day (or two) long session. Each track from the record will be released in the month of January alongside an in-studio video, all leading up to the release date on February 3rd. Anyone who pre-orders the record on bandcamp will receive a digital download of each track a day after they premiere.
With Strength In Weakness, Lame-O Records hopes to help give back to the community they love so much. The proceeds will be donated to both the local Philadelphia chapter of United Cerebral Palsy and the national branch.
