This year Manchester Punk Festival will take place April 21-23 and they just dropped a bunch of new names. Here's the press release:

We were so gutted that Atlas Losing Grip didn't end up making it to the festival last year so are absolutely thrilled to be able to rectify that now. Coming out of Malmo/Lund in Sweden, they combine the modern melodic hardcore sound with powerful vocals and a traditional metal influence. The latest album 'Currents' shows what this band can do. They are ready to rip Manchester apart on what is curently their only UK gig this year.

The Repossessed blast out an energetic burst of aggressive yet melodic hardcore punk. This Sheffield based four piece is not to be missed. They encompass everything that is good about the 80's hardcore sound. The Deadites are a three piece from Peterborough, UK who play punk/rock/blues/folk/ska straight in to your ears like an audible injection of love.

Made up with members of The Arteries and Static Radio NJ front this garage-grunge band that have been touring non-stop all over the world in the last couple of years. Pale Angels are going to deliver some straight up no bullshit grunge rock.

Well known in Manchester for being the kings of shred, Fair Do's have slowed down their gigging recently in order to write their first full length album (after a hundred years of playing as a band). That being said, they have still managed UK and European tours and slots with bands like Strung Out, Frenzal Rhomb and H20. You know what they are about, they never disappoint.

Also from Sheffield, Chewed Up will provide an aggressive mix of hardcore, skacore, crust and thrash. It’s all delivered in a DIY anarcho style. Check out their superb recent split album with Casual Nausea. Sporting some of the fanciest suits in music Nosebleed are a three piece band who deliver blasts of trashy garage punk rock. Full of riffs and infectious melodies.

Tim Loud, of Bootscraper fame, returns to MPF's acoustic stage with his distinctive mix of country/folk /blues with a punk edge and Stewart Lee-esque brand of thoughtful and funny onstage storytelling.

The Lab Rats have gigged their way up to becoming a local favourite in Manchester and are easily the cutest duo we know. Molly's beautiful voice along with Adam's beautiful face means you won't fail to be satisfied. Singing songs about politics, being vegan and hating Wadeye, there really is something for everyone.

We also have Manchester-based four piece Gut Model playing sweet jams, sick riffs and shouting all over them. They're very, very good. Also from Manchester we have Throwing Stuff. Expect it to be fun, fast and loud. There will be serious hardcore/punk songs played with a smile.
