Melbourne's Dental Plan have shared their new single, 'Cant' Get What You Want,’ a soaring indie-punk anthem, where the band showcase influences such as The Menzingers, The Replacements, Militarie Gun, and Bully, with a dual male/female vocal-driven, fuzzed-out banger only possible through a life well-lived. The classic loud/soft dynamic produces a powerful indie punk sing-a-long encompassing themes of loss, determination & hope.
Vocalist Niam Hegarty shares of the track, “This is a break-up song, written at a crossroads in my life, I had a hell of a dark period – took a long walk to my favorite burger shop - when I arrived home I wrote this song on an acoustic guitar with the lyrics and music fully formed, it took only a few minutes and we had a tune, I hope it holds that raw emotion . Originally, we had intended to record this acoustically, but it sounded so great with Joanne’s vocals and the full fuzzed out guitar sound we stuck with that for the record.”
'Can't Get What You Want' is the third and final single from the group’s debut album, ‘Raw Nerve,' out July 19th digitally. A limited edition LP will be pressed on Blood Red Vinyl.
