Upper Peninsula, Michigan’s emo darlings, The Casper Fight Scene, have signed with the emerging indie label PNWK Records (home to Leisure Hour, FinalBossFight!, and Potionseller). The band's long-awaited debut full-length album (the follow-up to 2023's EP Haymaker EP) is slated for release on digital and vinyl formats in early 2025. The new single "Cadillac Deathtrap" will be released on November 1st.
Hailing from Michigan's Upper Peninsula, The Casper Fight Scene showcases the signature loud guitars, catchy hooks, and heartfelt lyrics of emo, all infused with their own unique flair. Frontman Jason Swallow’s lyrics delve into themes of past regrets and a tangible fear of stagnation, while still offering a glimmer of hope for the future and a desire for change. From the raw, cathartic energy of “Cadillac Death Trap” to the somber reflections in “Geezer,” their emotional range is both direct and vulnerable. This honest exploration of uncomfortable truths and past mistakes makes The Casper Fight Scene both relatable and endearing. With soaring leads and epic solos from guitarist Kenny Quick, alongside the solid rhythm section of drummer Michael McGaffigan and bassist Peter Hart, they are a dangerously charismatic band on the verge of becoming the next Midwest emo sensation.
The Casper Fight Scene will be touring with Cliffdiver (Sideonedummy) and new labelmates Leisure Hour in November/December. See dates below.
