Manchester Punk Festival announced their first names! Get ready for this!
Philadelphia's PAINT IT BLACK will be playing their first UK show in SEVEN years at MPF2017! This is a huge deal for us as Paint It Black and its members embody what we're all about in terms of supporting grassroots music, keeping things ethical and addressing serious issues through music and community. Featuring members of other legendary bands such as Kid Dynamite, None More Black, Ceremony & Lifetime, Paint It Black are one of the most important and influential hardcore bands around. This will likely be one of two shows Paint It Black play in the country so make sure you're there.
We're also very proud to welcome another legendary band to MPF this year in the form of New York's THE TOASTERS. This band have been a stalwart in the ska-punk scene for as long as most of us have been alive and it's an honour to have them as part of our festival.
All the way from Aalborg, Denmark were pleased to announce that melodic hardcore band MIGHTY MIDGETS will be making their way over to the UK for the first time too, be sure to check out their latest record 'Raising Ruins for the Future'.
Celebrating their 10 year anniversary and making a very rare appearance we have THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS from Lincoln with their anthemic driving punk rock. Very excited for this.
Crossing over into mainland Europe we've got the brilliant force of SWEET EMPIRE to reckon with. Pivotal within the Dutch punk rock scene, brilliantly written songs with important messages behind them.
Next we've got EDWARD IN VENICE out of Italy and into bloody Manchester! Modern hardcore with huge elements of screams and skate-punk, this is a band you really have to watch to understand the full appeal, make sure you do!
Making it 6 bands from 6 different countries we're happy to welcome PIZZATRAMP from Cardiff to their first ever MPF. For those unaware, Pizzatramp play fast and short songs, bloody brilliantly.
Hailing from York/Leeds, LARRAKIA (definitely pronounced Larrakeyah) were born from now defunct The Fear and looked ready to pick up where they left off. With a real understanding of how to approach music, gigs and being in a band in general, they have fascinating stories behind every song and even their name that still no one knows how to pronounce.
Super Early Bird tickets sold out last night, before any bands were announced. We now have an allocation of Early Bird tickets for just £25.
Manchester Punk Festival is happening 20-22 April 2017 across a number of venues in Manchester City Centre. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with MPF2017 and future announcements!
We can't wait.
