NY punk band Good Things have shared a music video for their new single, 'It's Like Losing Everything,' showcasing the band's punk-influenced technical songwriting ability, heart-wrenching songwriting, and the ability to evoke the cherished memories of lost loved ones gone too soon.
"It's Like Losing Everything" is a memorial song. I wish I could be the one to pick up the pieces of you and put you back together, but I realize there's nothing I can offer except the burden of another person you probably don't need around. I'd give up everything just to protect you, but I can't even protect myself. I'm an empty, shattered mess too, but maybe you'll want that someday.," shares vocalist/rhythm guitarist Cam. "I originally wrote the skeleton of the song back in 2017. Back then I wasn't really sure what direction I wanted to take it in or why I even started writing it in the first place and I never did anything with it. Over the past few years, loved ones close to me have gone through some sudden, traumatic losses, and it made me want to reinvent the song in a way that they could feel like someone is always in their corner even if we don't talk about it much. I often feel like I can be overbearing or try too hard and this song kinda proves that. I'd go to the ends of the Earth for them, even if they don't feel the same way."
Good Things is a 4-piece punk band that originated in 2019 prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, songs about crushing grief and desperate longing have been the bands' claim to the NYC and Westchester NY music scenes.
