If you were to make a Venn diagram of indie rock, punk rock and power-pop and then zoom in right where they all intersect, you are bound to come across The Pretty Flowers.

On their debut album ‘Why Trains Crash’, the LA-based quartet dish out twelve tunes that snarl, smirk, smile and do lots of other things that start with an s. Yes, start too. And stop. And then onto the next song, which is always just as solid as the one before it. There’s something comfortable and instantly familiar about The Pretty Flowers’ songs. Plus they make it all sound so goddamn easy.

Influenced by the likes of Superchunk, The Thermals and The Replacements, The Pretty Flowers are an absolute pleasure to spend some time with to if you are into fuzzy rock.
