Back in the golden age of action movies, John Woo made ‘Face/Off’, his first movie in the US. It starred the then still bankable John Travolta and Nicolas Cage, who at some point in the movie both played bad guy Castor Troy. If that sounds dumb, well… it kinda was. But when it came out, I thought it was a badass movie

Pluralize that name and it becomes the name of a punk rock band operating out of Hamilton, ON who just released their new 6-song EP, ‘Legends Never Die’. They play a kind of anthemic punk rock with hard rock influences thrown in that has as much to do with Rise Against and Ignite as with Monster Truck and Iron Maiden.

Influences that diverse could have easily led to a complete disaster, but there isn’t anything wrong with cuts like opening track ‘Blackout Love’, the rallying cry for unity that is ‘We Are One’ or the title track. The only time they lost me was with the country-influenced ‘Watch The City Burn’, . Their take on the Tom Petty classic ‘Running Down A Dream’ however, hits all the right spots. If you are into hard rockin’ riffs and tons of ooh’s and aah’s, feel free to check out The Castory Troys

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
