Bristol, UK songwriter Lande Hekt and independently owned Queer/trans label Get Better Records are excited to announce the release of the music video for “December,” a track lifted from Hekt’s debut solo album, 'Going to Hell'. A track centered around feeling scared to do anything when you like someone, the clip for “December” – co-directed, edited and produced by Martin “Gingerdope” Wisniewska and Josh Bannister – was shot in Hekt’s bedroom and features a single take for the majority of the video showing her cutting off her own hair in a very bold move. “My hands were shaking as I chopped my hair shorter than I've had it since I was four-years-old, whilst trying to remember the words to the song and not cry,” she recalls.

Hekt’s debut solo album, 'Going to Hell,' is a charming and introspective guitar-pop showcase that represents a time when Hekt was coming out. The record details how there were so many things that didn’t feel right in her life, along with learning how to come to terms with being gay. Or, more accurately, realizing that pretending you’re not gay can’t go on forever. “I’m no stranger to Queer punk and Queer politics,” she says. “I’ve always taken a special interest for obvious reasons, but this record is important to me because it’s the first time I’m releasing anything as an outwardly gay person.”
