The queens of Texas pop punk, The Applicators are back with a brand new single, “Sound Of Cars”.
Originally formed in January 1999 in Austin, TX., The Applicators quickly made a name for themselves touring nationally with bands like Bad Religion, Buzzcocks, Circle Jerks, Epoxies, and more. In their first new track since 2015’s “Scandal”, the band has created the perfect nighttime cruising theme song.
Recorded at The Bubble Studios in Austin by Chris “Frenchie” Smith, “Sound Of Cars” features a tight driving beat by drummer Katy Corser, and powerful interplay between the guitars and bass from Erica Zamora, Erica “EFlo” Flores, and Kristina Willhite. Pulling it all together are the vocals of Sabrina Worthington. The song haunts you long after the last guitar feedback fades away.
“I came up with the lyrics of sound of cars in a dream,” Worthington says of the song, “To me it’s a song about being high up on a rooftop looking down at yourself and just respecting the journey no matter how messy it is.”
