Chicago-based punk artist Sincere Engineer returns with "Fireplace" – the band’s first single of 2023. The new earworm comes ahead of a packed Summer that includes a set at Slam Dunk Festival (UK), a stint on the Sad Summer Tour this July alongside Taking Back Sunday and The Maine, an appearance at Austin City Limits, and a debut performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago, her hometown. Sincere Engineer’s Deanna Belos worked on “Fireplace” with Mike Sapone (Taking Back Sunday, Boston Manor, Grouplove) and assures fans the track is not to be taken too seriously:
"Fireplace is a kinda funny song about not liking someone and not caring if they get chopped up and eaten and thrown in a fireplace because they were a jerk! I took some lyrical risks with this one but I'm super stoked on it and think it's really catchy. To me, it's like the "Corn Dog Sonnet No. 7" of this record!"
