Hailing from Indianapolis, The Putz are a no-frills pop punk trio who have already built up quite the discography since their debut came out in 2010. 4 Albums, 9 EP’s and 1 compilation, they aren’t quite done yet. Their latest feat? A short 4-song EP that lives up to its title and serves as a preview for their new album set to be released later this year.

That’s four tasty slabs of pop-punk that wouldn’t have looked out of place on Lookout! Records’ roster. Driving rhythms, buzzing guitars, great melodies and vocal harmonies so sweet you don’t realize right away that the songs are about a painful breakup. One of these days I’m going to figure out why upbeat songs work so much better when they’re about sad events. Until then, I’m just going to enjoy The Putz’ latest musical output.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
