Washington DC ska punks Kill Lincoln have returned with album number four, ‘No Normal,’ out now on Bad Time Records. Clocking at under half an hour, the band keeps things on a tight leash and wastes no time getting to the point as they burn through eleven songs with even more fervor than on past releases.

Is that because vocalist Mike Sosinski has a lot of pent-up energy to get rid of after four years of focusing on turning Bad Time Records into a ska punk powerhouse? Who knows. Fact is that you get about as much chance to catch your breath as the president they named themselves after a visit to the theater. Relentless is one way  to put it. Tiring is another.

Kill Lincoln isn’t exactly hiding the fact that they worship at the altar of ’90s ska-punk legends like The Suicide Machines, and Less Than Jake, and at this point it’s fair to say that they rival those bands’ output. But - and I’m showing my age here - the songs on ‘No Normal’ are so incredibly busy that I get exhausted just listening to them.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
