Rebuke, the Swedish punk powerhouse known for their razor-sharp musicianship and thought-provoking lyrics, invites listeners into a world of altered perceptions with their latest single, ‘Octopus Hair’. Blurring the lines between reality and the surreal, this track takes audiences on a trip like no other, delivering the unexpected while staying true to Rebuke’s intense, technical sound.

‘Octopus Hair’ channels the feeling of disorientation and fascination that comes with stepping into an uncanny, otherworldly realm. “You know that feeling when the walls of the house sprout spider legs, and the enchanted realm of porta potties beckon you from an unfathomable distance? No? Well, that’s the feeling we’re trying to convey here, anyhow,” explains guitarist and vocalist Petter Mossberg with a smirk.

The accompanying music video brings these themes to life, blending technology and artistry to create a stunning visual representation of a mind untethered. Collaborating with Aleksa/Dedaburito, Rebuke utilized computer-generated imagery to explore abstract states of consciousness, producing a video that’s as captivating as the song itself.

“Olle wrote an epic closing solo for this track,” Petter adds, “and we see it as a kind of spiritual successor to ‘Without a Shred of Dignity’. It felt fitting to end the song with something both grand and grounding—after all, nothing quite anchors the strange like an unforgettable solo.”

This release continues Rebuke’s journey toward the February 7th unveiling of their highly anticipated album, ‘Things One Shouldn’t Have to Say’. Available for pre-order now, the album will be released in several formats, including 12” vinyl in ‘Fizz Time Spatter’ and ‘Dualist Sundae’ variations, CD, and digital. With 18 tracks spanning themes of philosophy, absurdity, and emotional depth, the album promises to be a landmark moment for fans and newcomers alike.

Since their formation in 2003, Rebuke has been redefining punk with their intricate blend of SoCal-inspired skatepunk, metal flourishes, and a keen sense of social and personal commentary. With ‘Octopus Hair’, they once again prove that punk is a genre without creative limits.
