Cape Zero
6.0
Scarred By Beauty is a Danish metalcore outfit who have been around since 2006. They are back now with their first full-length for Redfield and second overall. The eleven songs that make up “Cape Zero” remind me of Misery Signals and the earlier work by As I Lay Dying with some solid shredding, pounding drums coupled to more atmospheric parts. The growled vocals are occasionally backed up by gang vocals and highlight the band’s hardcore influences.
While these guys bring a lot of energy to the table, it is a shame that I’ve already heard this so many times before that it doesn’t really leave much of a lasting impression other than one of recognition.
