What do you get when you put Jason Black (Hot Water Music), Neltie Penman (former Hot Water Music tour manager), Jeff Gensterblum (Small Brown Bike), Arty Shepard (Errortype:11) and Matt Kane together? A new band called UnWed, who have just released their debut single “Made Of” on No Idea Records.

The grungy title track kicks in with an almost Helmet-like riff and propulsive drums before Arty steps in and adds a guitar part that really makes the song take off. Neltie’s vocals might take some getting used to but suit the tune nicely, especially when paired with Arty’s backup vocals. The other song on here is called “Pope” and is equally good… and then becomes even better around the halfway mark. If you’re a fan of Quicksand, Hum, Far and other 90s alternative rock acts, you might want to give UnWed a listen. I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to a full-length!
