Movie Reviews
Iron Man 3 kicks off with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) suffering from severe anxiety attacks following his Avengers adventure in New York. Not exactly a comfortable position for the nation’s hero. Luckily he can still count on War Machine aka Iron Patriot (Don Cheadle) for support. Support that will be much needed when facing The Mandarin (a kind of Chinese Osama Bin Laden played by Ben Kingsley) and scientist Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) who has found a way to hack into the human brain and turn humans into super-soldiers.
This time around it’s Shane Black behind the camera while Iron Man 1 + 2 director Jon Favreau has to be content playing Tony Stark’s personal assistant. I have to hand it to Black… he does a solid job with the action sequences (the attack on Stark’s house, the grand finale on the boat) and Downey is once again great as Tony Stark while the baddies are pretty cool as well. I still feel like we haven’t seen the best Iron Man movie yet but that doesn’t take away from the fact that Iron Man 3 is a friggin’ decent popcorn movie!
