From Tampa, FL comes a band called Blistered. They have just released a 7” with the ugliest cover I have seen in a long time, called “Soul Erosion”. It’s like they found an old CD with stock pictures from 1991 and decided to just go with the toughest image they could find on there… a burning Greek temple.

Anyway, these guys are trying to tap into the 90s metallic hardcore sound that was big in the day. Think Morning Again, Culture, Buried Alive and so on. Problem is that their material just isn’t that impressive. The five songs on here are not without their merits, but shit’s on here is just not up to par with what Morning Again used to churn out. And the fact that I couldn’t get behind the vocalist’s monotonous hoarse bark, didn’t exactly help speed things along either.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
