Album Reviews
Following up “Going Out In Style”, Boston’s favorite sons are back with another album full of Celtic folk-enhanced punkrock. Rather than the last one which was a concept album, this one was going to be a fun and catchy album that was sure to damage a lot of speakers. And with more singalong action than you can shake a stick at, it’s fair to say that they delivered yet again.
Asking your fans to get a tattoo with your new logo to get in a music video might be extremely lame, but there’s no denying that these guys know how to write a party song. Songs like “Rose Tattoo” and “The Battle Rages On” are vintage Dropkick Murphys tunes and while you’d be hard-pressed to find anything even remotely innovative, the boys just keep on going. They even have their own Christmas song now with “The Season’s Upon Us”! Yet listening to “Signed And Sealed In Blood”, I can’t help but notice that it’s been a long time since I was truly excited about a new Dropkick Murphys album.
