When Lea Emmery moved from Sweden to London, it didn’t take her too long to get her demos noticed by Heavenly Recordings. That interest led to a record deal and Emmery’s demos turned into a full-fledged band that has now released a seriously charming debut album, “Wonderlust”.

With a sound that is holed up somewhere between 90s indie rock, shoegaze cool and dream pop, Kid Wave cranked out eleven delightful songs that seem hellbent on finding the faintest glimmer of light in even the darkest of moods. Armed with sun-soaked riffs, dance-y rhythms, Lea’s lush and breathy vocals and more than enough mesmerizing hooks, “Wonderlust” is a great, carefree listen.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
