Jetpack Mailman
7.0
Following the release of 2013’s “Polars”, Ma Jolie slimmed down to a three-piece. Instead of losing some of their intensity along with a band member, this new batch of songs shows a band that turned into an even leaner and meaner beast. “Jetpack Mailman” is not only an awesome idea if you ask Amazon, it also packs four songs that show Ma Jolie are just as ferocious as before, and possibly even more anthemic.
The intro of “Tourism Ego” may make you think of a deconstructed version of Faith No More’s “We Care A Lot” for a second, but more than anything these guys seem to have been influenced by the likes of Latterman. Not shabby, not shabby at all.
