Five years after their last album, Australia’s Miles Away are back at it with “Tide”. It marks their fifth full-length and other than the piano-driven intro, there is nothing calm or soothing about the way the tide rolls in on this one.

Cuts like “Entitlement” or “Port Of Call” fall in line with the more straightforward melodic hardcore of the band’s first releases, while “Terra Incognita” and “Mousetraps” wouldn’t have looked out of place on “Endless Roads”. Basically, it’s just more of the same kind of hardcore-influenced bangers that are as heavy as they are melodic. And we wouldn’t want it any other way!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
