On their second album, ‘Rage Gracefully,’ Rad Owl dish out 12 tasty slabs of melodic punk rock that bring to mind the greatness of ALL/Descendents, a less metal-tinged Strung Out and a heavier version of Craig’s Brother. Not sure if that makes sense? It’s a sound that rings familiar, but not one I have heard a lot in recent years. Making even less sense?

Featuring former members of Samiam, Gratitude and The Stereo, it’s obvious these guys have plenty of experience and know how to write solid songs that are drenched in self-deprecation and Midwestern humility while also favoring the occasional riff that should put Iron Maiden fans on notice. Whether they go full-throttle on ‘Bock Szn’ or ‘Run It Out’ or take a slightly more mellow approach on ‘Always Eyes,’ these guys sure know how to rage gracefully!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
