The only band with a bucket endorsement deal is back with the follow-up to their Charlie Patton tribute. While that one was strictly acoustic, “Between The Ditches” is another electric album filled with soggy Delta blues and hints of country thrown in.

While every song is off to a good start, Peyton & co hardly ever succeed in keeping me interested ‘til the fingerpicking stops. The rhythm never changes, choruses hardly ever consist of more than repeating the song title over and over,…  Now, I’m not going to pretend that I’m some kind of blues expert but whereas an act like Left Lane Cruiser has no problem whipping a crowd up into a frenzy, Reverend Peyton and his big damn band don’t really make much of a lasting impression.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
