Following last year’s “Hospital Handshakes”, Rocky Votolato is back already with a new EP. “Sawdust & Shavings” comes with six stripped down songs, four of which are reworked versions of tracks that appeared on last year’s album. Both “Shortcuts” and “Kids And Kids” are brand new, but fit in beautifully alongside the bare-boned versions of “Hospital Handshakes”, “Sawdust & Shavings”, “Royal” and “This Is My Work”.

As intimate as they are fragile, these songs still stand equally tall as their full-band counterparts and make a nice addition to Votolato’s discography.
