Spanish for ‘reborn’, “Renacer” is indeed a return to form for Senses Fail. After 10 years and 1,2 million sold albums, things had calmed down around this band. The title track that opens this album immediately sets the record straight though… Senses Fail is still very much alive and with the help of producer Shaun Lopez (Deftones, Far,…), they prove that they aren’t taking any shit.

With what has to be their heaviest material to date, Senses Fail storms out the gate and by the time you’ve wrapped around just how heavy they are, “Mi Amor” comes around and switches things into an even higher gear. And even though it’s the lead single, it’s not the best song on the album. You’ll have to check out “Canine” or “Glass” for that.

With a perfect mix between shear heaviness, more atmospheric parts and catchy choruses, “Renacer” is a solid album that shows that people who had kinda forgotten about Senses Fail are wrong… they still know how to kick your ass! Kudos to producer Shaun Lopez (Deft
