No Heaven
7.0
The Slow Death is a sort of punkrock super-group formed by Jesse Thorson (aka Pretty Boy Thorson) along with members from The Soviettes, Dillinger Four and so on. And of course Mikey Erg is also in it because… well, because he’s in every single solid punkrock band known to mankind.
These guys aren’t reinventing the wheel on their second full-length but “No Heaven” is filled with the kind of catchy punkrock tunes with self-deprecating lyrics that totally fit in the line of acts like Off With Their Heads and Dear Landlord. These are songs about drinking, breaking up, drinking because you broke up or breaking up because you’re always drunk. It ain’t rocket science but “No Heaven” is a helluva lot of fun nevertheless.
