Chris Carrabba once broke teenage girls’ hearts with Dashboard Confessional and had them all singing along to songs about having his heart broken. He’s back at it now with a new project called Twin Forks, where he is joined by members of The Narrative and Bad Books.

As a result of that collaboration, we get twelve folky indie-pop songs that have been collected on one self-titled album.  One thing you notice right from the start is that Chris sure sounds a lot happier in 2014. It’s all very upbeat and people are clapping their hands and shouting ‘hey’ a lot while Chris is singing about a girl he saw playing the mandolin somewhere in the Village. I wish I could tell you what song it was, but I honestly couldn’t tell these tracks apart. Plus it sounded all a bit too cute to be taken seriously.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
