Two Years
3.0
The Braces is a pop-punk band out of California that has just released its third release. I had never heard of these guys before and listening to “Two Years”, I’m left thinking that that is something that won’t be considered a loss.
These guys took a lot of cues from older Blink 182, which on its own is not a bad thing. Fast-paced, self-deprecating… that’s me in a nutshell after a couple of coffees. The Braces however seem just a bit too enthusiastic and because of that sound as if they are stumbling over one another throughout the songs. And the vocals are way too grating to be considered pleasant. Maybe it’s because of the braces… I guess we’ll find out in two years. Yeah, that joke is lame. Then again… so is this album.
