The name Vinnie Caruana might not immediately ring a bell with you but you’ve no doubt heard his vocals before in either The Movielife, I Am The Avalanche or recently in Peace’d Out. On “City By The Sea” he’s going at it acoustically and does so pretty good.

You can definitely still hear the punkrocker in Caruana’s gritty vocals and the relatively straight-forward arrangements but the songs on here show a much more mellow side of the man. The songs are decent enough (better than Joey Cape’s acoustic material even if that isn’t saying much) but I still prefer to hear him belt out another singalong chorus while backed up by loud as fuck guitars.
