Album Reviews
North Carolina’s Wolves&Wolves&Wolves&Wolves is finally back with the follow-up to 2016’s ‘The Cross And The Switchblade’. Seven years in between albums is a long time, but ‘CurseCurseCurse’ turns out to be worth the wait.
Nothing much has changed in the land of Wolves x 4: the vocals are still gruff and gritty and musically things are as melodic as they are deliciously crunchy. Think Nothington or Off With Their Heads without the need to pop a Prozac afterwards. It’s hard to pick favorites among the 9 tracks that make up ‘CurseCurseCurse’ with an output this consistent. But opener ‘Hey Run Away’, ‘Hey Catalonia’ and ‘Born To Break’ hit especially hard while the acoustic ‘Raging Wind’ carries the whole thing home with nothing but an acoustic guitar and vocals.
Curse Curse Curse track list:
- Hey Run Away
- Empires
- Oh Catalonia
- Excommunicate Me
- Same Old Sin
- Born To Break
- Paradise Is Burning
