Thanks to their recently inked deal with InVogue, the guys in Worthwhile got the chance to re-release their debut. On “Carry On Kid” these guys do pretty much the same thing as a lot of other cathartic hardcore bands out there. Think Defeater, Touche Amore and the likes.

It’s not that they’re doing anything wrong. They got the riffs, the breakdowns and the emotional screams down pat. Problem with Worthwhile’s material is that it’s really hard to tell the songs apart. So if they can’t even insert variety in their own songs, then how are they planning to stand out between all the bands doing pretty much the same thing? Another – even bigger – problem is that James Teyler’s vocals are monotonous as fuck and even though his voice is cracking quite a lot, I’m not feeling the sincerity. Worthwhile might be pushing it, I would’ve called the band adequate.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
