LA’s Justus Proffit shared “Shadow Of The Cross,” a new track off his upcoming debut LP L.A.’s Got Me Down, which is set for release on March 8th via Bar/None Records.
The song is about how it feels to move forward from grief—something Proffit experienced firsthand after the death of his past girlfriend. “It’s weird because it’s been about 3 and a half years,” says Proffit. “All those feelings were strong at the time but as things move on, it’s such a strange sensation of emptiness. It’s not as tangible as it once was and it never will be." The track's heavy lyricism is countered by the biggest and catchiest chorus of Proffit's career.
