Oakland, Calif. queer punks Middle-Aged Queers have released their first new material of 2023, on the heels of their 2022 “Shout at the Hetero” album (out now on Say-10 Records).
The band writes:“We grew up on the heterocentric, decadent rock and roll ballads of the ’70s and ’80s. It only seemed fitting that we write a love song for us, by us.”
After recording the “Shout at the Hetero” album in 2021, the band recruited Fureigh (they/them pronouns, the Homobiles, ex-the-Shondes) as their new guitarist. “Anal Beads” marks the first material from this new lineup of queerdos, whose festival appearances garnered rave reviews internationally throughout 2022.
Middle-Aged Queers, voted “Best Live Band” by the Bay Area Reporter, has released the new video to commemorate their new lineup and a run of shows in Northern California.
