Bottom Bracket are back with their sophomore release, but if you haven't heard of them before, they are looking to change that and change it fast. Everything about their upcoming album "I'm So Afraid Of Where" (out Nov 8 on Count Your Lucky Stars) screams urgent, as though the band got tired of waiting for the world to notice them and decided to take matters into their own hand. Today, we are psyched to premiere the band’s new single, ‘Camouflage.’ The song title makes sense when you look at the lyrics, but musically it’s hard not to take notice. Think of Jimmy Eat World on caffeine with some Midwest noodling to boot.
“Camouflage is the craziest, fastest, most high-energy song this band has ever written,” says Cannamela. “There’s flashy riffs, intense vocals, breakdowns, and just a bunch of unique things we don’t normally do musically. The song is about learning how to give yourself the space you need to maintain your independence and identity. We hope you go hard as fuck for this one live.”
“I’m So Afraid Of Where” comes with 10 songs worth of vocals shooting out at a pace that would put The Gilmore Girls to shame, every sentence loaded and littered with important clues that read like a map to the heart of vocalist/guitarist Mario Cannamela. The guitars twist and pulse as they push the song forward, flanked by the rhythm section of Tim Recio (bass/vocals) and Rob Diaz (drums) that drive the song and color it with details that you will only catch on repeat listens. Before you know it, you'll be shouting along with every word and wonder how you could have almost missed this gem. Bottom Bracket are here and you might not know it yet, but you soon will.
