Vocalist/bassist Billy Thompson about the album:

“Dark Clouds and the storms that follow create change in the landscape of the world we live in. As a band from Louisiana we have had our share of these storms. 

The album was named after the track entitled “Dark Clouds.” It seems to make sense of our view in these dark times. There are clearly many meanings implied and I don’t want to limit the listeners’ interpretation and potential connections so I won’t explain them all away. But I will say, that to me, it seems insecurity is the root of all suffering. The dark clouds come and go and some watch in fear and hide. But there is always beauty if you can catch your breath and take in the moments in between...even with all wind and rain.”

‘Dark Clouds’ is the follow-up to Secret Smoker’s debut full length album, ‘Terminal Architecture,’ released in 2013. While continuing the theme of raging revivalist hardcore, ‘Dark Clouds’ exhibits a progression to a more urgent, expressive and angry sound.  

The trio, which next to Billy also features Mark Waite on guitar and vocals, and Seth Martin on drums, are intent upon driving home passionate, forceful and rhythmic hardcore.
