Milford, Connecticut’s American Thrills are back at it already with the follow-up to last year’s self-titled debut EP. Recorded with the help of Chris Teti (The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die), ‘Old Things’ comes with four new slices of blue-collar punk rock that should sit well with fans of the Menzingers, early The Gaslight Anthem and the likes.

On the EP, the band shares, “The Old Things EP tackles the subject of loss and the complicated feelings that come along with it. It’s an up-beat pop punk record that any late 20-30 something can relate to.” And that’s a pretty apt description. Opener ‘Discount Casket’ and ‘Wandering’ (featuring Hot Rod Circuit’s Andy Jackson) come at you with strong riffs and melodies as well as a shot of melancholy, while the title track has a nice ebb and flow feel to it that pulls you in and will leave you wanting more.

Old Things track listing:

  1. Discount Casket

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
