Walk The Plank's upcoming release, "Loathe" (produced by Ben Green of Fairweather), was recorded just as COVID-19 broke out across the world. Since then, the band has been dormant as members navigated life. This will be the first release in which guitarist John Crum is on as well as drummer Zeeshan Shad's first offering with Walk The Plank.
Today, we are premiering ‘Anti-Social Media,’ the opening track off the EP and a scathing commentary on the toxic dependency our society has on social media.
"It's a song about our obsession with validation through social media,” says lead vocalist Ian Crocker. “I feel like the news cycle has been replaced with an endless scroll that doesn't really have a resolution for social and political discourse. I believe that in 20 years we won't look back fondly on the role that social media played in terms of our interactions and mental health."
After 4 years, Walk The Plank will play their first show next month at Atlas Brew Works in their hometown of Washington DC on January 13th. With plans to add more shows in the USA and internationally. There are also plans to write and record a new full-length album in the coming year.
