Primal Play

7.0
Holy shit, are there still bands that don’t feature Mikey Erg? Formed after a Nirvana cover set at The Fest 10 by Static Radio NJ’s Mike Santostefano and The Arteries’ Jamey Morrison, Pale Angels is yet another addition to Mikey’s ever-expanding resume and it’s a doozy.
“Primal Play” boasts the kind of fuzzed out, grungy guitars that should please all the Dinosaur Jr, Hüsker Dü and Nirvana fans out there. While not as hook-laden as Mikey’s pop-punk exploits, these songs are still catchy and if this was the 90s, a major label deal would be in the cards. Instead they’ll have to settle for being a new PunkRockTheory darling.
