Noomi  Rapace already made the transition to the States and now director Niels Arden Oplev who helped put her on the map with 2009’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, has followed her for his first American movie, Dead Man Down.

In this revenge thriller Colin Farrell plays Victor, a man out for blood after his wife and daughter have been killed by a criminal named Alphonse (Terence Howard). Victor has worked his way into Alphonse’s organization and is waiting for the right moment to take them all out. He then meets his neighbor, Beatrice (Rapace) who’s been scarred after a car accident. It doesn’t take long for Beatrice to figure out what Victor is up to but rather than ratting him out, she asks him for help with her own little revenge fantasy. An unlikely partnership is formed between these two lost souls as they try to help each other out.

What starts off as an interesting enough take on the same theme as Strangers On A Train, unfortunately warps into an all-out action flick in the last fifteen minutes when this movie’s credibility is shot to pieces along with most of its cast.
