Album Reviews
Chicago’s Lights Over Bridgeport come out swinging with a new 4-song EP called “Prayers & Eulogies”. The title might seem a bit gloomy, something that is not reflected in the songs at hand. Produced by The Swellers’ Nick Diener, these tunes are catchy and hook-laden yet pack enough punch to be labeled punk. If this was still the 90ies, these guys would probably have found a home on the Drive-Thru roster between acts like FenixTX and The Starting Line.
Lights Over Bridgeport have a sturdy rhythm section and are not afraid to use it. The guitars play well off of each other and vocalist John Hamlin’s gravelly voice is a nice change of pace from all the high-pitched vocals we’ve come to associate with pop-punk.
Check them out… they’re well worth your time!
