What originally started as a solo project for Jimmy Hindle in the summer of 2013 in Glasgow, has since turned into a full-fledged band. Hindle’s fellow Pooches are Calvin Halliday on drums, Andy Kelly on guitar and Gavin Cormack on bass. Together they have already opened for the likes of Surfer Blood, Colleen Green, Hop Along and more and have now released a 4-track EP called “Heart Attack”, which is a way more charming experience than an actual heart attack.

Charming. That’s definitely one way to describe The Pooches’ songs. There’s just something about these smooth indie pop gems that make your day instantly better with soft-spoken vocals and guitar lines that are light as a feather. All four tracks are short (think two minutes and a half or less), catchy, jangly and just on the right side of awkward. And when I say indie pop, I don’t mean The Pooches sound like one of those ‘cooler than thou’ bands that are found on every street corner nowadays. I’m talking Teenage Fanclub and Squeeze, people!

Keep your eyes peeled for a full-length set for this Summer!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
