Uke-Hunt is the name of Spike Slawson’s latest project. What started out as Spike learning to play his favorite songs on the ukulele, quickly turned into a full band with Joe Raposo (Lagwagon/RKL) and Randy Burk (Filthy Thieving Bastards) among others, helping out your favorite crooner on saxophone, glockenspiel, standup bass and percussion.

“The Prettiest Star” is a limited edition 2 song 7” that comes with covers of Ziggy Stardust’s “The Prettiest Star” and Michael Jackson’s “Ben”. Both songs are decent enough, cutesy versions but what I like most about it this release is that it popped up out of left field. Apparently these guys are already working on a full-length… curious to see how that one is going to turn out now that we know what to expect!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
