Josh Robbins (Alright, Late Bloomer) has released his debut solo EP under the J ANDREW moniker, out now via Self Aware Records (Late Bloomer, Bask, Dollar Signs, Gay Meat). The tracks were recorded by J Andrew at Sundog Studios. Sarah Blumenthal handles backing vocals and additional vocal recording & backing vocals on. Then mixed/mastered by Justin Pizzoferrato (Supercrush, Dinosaur, Jr, Speedy Ortiz, Kim Gordon).

J Andrew had this to say about the upcoming full EP: "It's always a scary thing to strike out on your own, but it's about time, really." 

Friends have told Robbins that the tracks remind them of Trace Mountains, Slaughter Beach Dog, Steve Marino or even the Berries. Not to call those friends wrong, but J Andrew wanted to craft the songs without any context, simply striving for what came naturally from the fingers of an unskilled craftsman. But hey, Built to Spill, Modest Mouse, Ben Lee, Daniel Johnston or early Son Volt might be in the soup somewhere too.
