There will most likely never be any new Leatherface tunes, but with Roach Squad we are being treated to the next best thing. And while I would not personally refer to The Sainte Catherines’ Hugo Mudie and Leatherface’s Frankie Stubbs and Graeme Philliskirk as a Roach Squad, that is the name these legends have chosen to operate under. Joining them is Alex Keane (of The Murderburgers fame), along with another local Sunderland Lad, Sim Robson. As of today, you can pre-order the band’s debut album, which will be out on Little Rocket Records (UK), Rad Girlfriend Records (US), Sounds Of Subterannia (EU) and Waterslide Records (JP). Also today, we are premiering the video for the album’s second single, ‘Little Magic.’ I believe ‘holy’ and ‘shit’ are the words you are looking for. Yes, the song is that good.

 “It’s a celebration of the little things that seem insignificant to most but are the essence of a beautiful life,” says Mudie about the track.

As with many of the members’ previous works, a DIY approach to writing and recording their new album was taken. The bulk of the recording took place at their own Rocket Studios in Sunderland, UK with the exception of Mudie laying down the vocals at Mixart Studios, Montreal (Quebec, Canada) and Philliskirk mixing the album himself as well.

The first pressing of the album comes with a Special Edition 3D “ROACH” image on the cover. Further pressings will come with a normal flat graphic. An even more exclusive Silk Screen Addition cover with a different artwork by Philip Janta (limited to 100 copies), will be available through Sounds Of Subterannia.
