Album Reviews

Philadelphia’s ERRTH is a new-ish band that features a couple of familiar faces in the form of Reunions’ Eric Saylor and Aspiga’s Kevin Day. Rounded out by Tim DeMarco (ex-Public Serpents) and Brian McClure (Seeing Snakes), ERRTH combine their love of early 90's and early-aughts melodic punk with a dual vocal attack courtesy of Saylor and Day. The result is a solid collection of songs that are influenced by the likes of The Lawrence Arms, Hot Water Music, Iron Chic and Dillinger Four.
Is it breaking any new ground? No, it isn’t. Is that a bad thing? No, it isn’t. If gruff-voiced melodic punk rock is your thing, do yourself a favor and check out ERRTH’s debut album. Opener ‘Close To Gone’ shoots right out the gate with thundering drums, packing plenty of punch and the kind of life-affirming chorus that you will want to belt along. From there on, the band keeps things concise and continue to deliver with every single song.
