With a solid debut album and one hell of an entertaining live show tucked firmly under their collective belt, Gallus is back with their brand new EP, ‘Cool To Drive,’ out now on Marshall Records. The EP packs just five songs, yet will nonetheless leave you catching your breath. These new songs find the Scottish indie-punks leaning more into the punk side of things.

The one-two punch of the title track and ‘Depressed Beyond Tablets’ reveals a band with the brakes taken off, ‘Just Desserts’ is the party track you didn’t know you needed and saving their most ferocious song til last, ‘It Bit’ finds vocalist Barry Dolan embracing self-love while at the same time warning you not to get in his way (“I am Barry and that’s how I like it”).

In short: ‘Cool To Drive’ is the best we’ve heard of Gallus so far and if you checked out the band’s debut album, ‘We Don’t Like The People We’ve Become,’ you know that is saying something.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
