Santa Cruz hardcore punks Seized Up have released a new music video for “Hanging in the Balance,” the lead single off their upcoming second LP Modify the Sacred. The album is available for pre-order via Pirates Press Records. You can watch the video for “Hanging in the Balance” below.
The songs on this record come from extremely personal and often dark places for singer & lyricist Clifford Dinsmore, and lead single “Hanging in the Balance” is a prime example. Dinsmore explains, “In the time period I was fighting cancer, I was shacked up, feeling like a prisoner in my own house. Living in a semi-purgatory state, it felt like I was looking at the world from an outside view.”
The single had a digital release in June and has been well received by fans eager to hear more from the Santa Cruz four piece. The new music video, released a week in advance of the album’s August 9th street date, features footage of the band saturated in blood red lighting, which make a perfect visual accompaniment to the band’s signature sonic onslaught of blistering, dark hardcore punk.
